MAGNOLIA SCHOOL DISTRICT TO USE TWELVE-MONTH SCHOOL CALENDAR FOR 2024-25
At its regular scheduled meeting on December 11, the Magnolia School Board approved the change to a twelve-month school calendar for the 2024-2025 school year. Some of the features of the calendar include:
· The school year will run from July 25, 2024, to June 4, 2025.
· Students will still attend 178 days of instruction as mandated by state law.
· Summer holidays will generally last between 6-7 weeks.
· Additional holidays will be added throughout the school year with most months having a week-long holiday.
· The average teacher’s contract will remain 190 days.
· State-mandated teacher training days will remain the same.
· Parent-Teacher Conference requirements will not change.
The District understands that vacations and other plans may conflict with the new calendar start date. We will make every effort to help provide accommodations to families experiencing scheduling difficulties due to the new calendar changes.
