Walker Pre-Kindergarten Center Enrollment Clinic

The Magnolia School District will host an Open House at the Walker Pre-Kindergarten Center from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. on March 17th and March 19th, 2026.  The Center's address is 655 Highway 79 South.  Participants will meet in the teachers’ lounge in the middle building.  Parents of children who will be three or four years of age by August 1, 2026, and anyone else interested are invited to tour the Center and observe classroom instruction.  At the conclusion of the clinic, parents of children who will be three or four years of age by August 1, 2026, will receive a folder of application materials.

The Walker Pre-Kindergarten Center provides a full-time licensed principal, licensed classroom teachers, and Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialed instructional assistants.  The Center maintains Level 3 Better Beginnings certification and implements a research-based pre-kindergarten program that meets program standards outlined in the Arkansas Department of Education Rules Governing the Arkansas Better Chance Program.  The Center currently offers services to 120 children whose families meet the income eligibility guidelines established by the Arkansas Better Chance (ABC) program.

The district will continue to offer services to children whose families wish to participate in tuition-based slots at $534.00 per month during the months of August through May.  This monthly rate is acquired by multiplying $30.00 per day times the 178 days that the program will operate and then dividing by ten months; the tuition is distributed into ten equal installments.  All classrooms of the Center will follow the same standards and operate according to the district calendar.  No part-time slots will be available.  Interested parents of three and four-year old children are encouraged to apply.  If a parent has a child enrolled in the Center during the  2025-2026 academic year and the child will return for the 2026 -2027 academic year, the parent must complete a 2026-2027 returning student application.

If a parent is unable to attend the Enrollment Clinic, an application may be picked up from the Walker Pre-Kindergarten Center located at 655 Hwy 79S. on April 6, 2026.  Center slots will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.  As application materials are processed, parents will be notified if their child has been accepted to the program.
