As part of School Board Member Appreciation Month in Arkansas, the Magnolia School District would like to highlight each board member for the service they provide the District. Today we highlight School Board Secretary, Emily Jester.
Emily is from Gladewater, Texas but made Magnolia her home since attending college at Southern Arkansas University. She obtained her bachelor's degree in 2007 and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2011. Emily is the Associate Registrar at Southern Arkansas University. She is married to Magnolia graduate Jeffrey Jester, and they have two children, Hays and Margo, who are both students in the Magnolia School District. When asked why she enjoys serving on the Magnolia School Board she replies, “I enjoy serving on the school board because I know every decision we make directly affects our students. I want to do all I can to make the years at Magnolia School District enjoyable for my children and their classmates.”
