Addison Anderson Receives Mary Brown Florence Scholarship Magnolia High School senior, Addison Anderson, is the recipient of the 2024 Mary Brown Florence Scholarship. The amount of the award is $1,100, which will be sent to the school of Addison’s choice. The criteria for this award, which was established in 1998, includes cumulative GPA, number of AP courses taken, ACT score, extracurricular activities, and participation in athletics or band.

Congratulations to Angela Baxley for being a winner at the 2024 Governor's Young Artist Competition. Friday, Angela was honored by the Governor at the Governor's Mansion, where her painting, "This Is Home", has been on display for the past month.

There are less than 25 yearbooks left to sell. If you have not purchased one yet please get it ASAP. Books are $60 and can be purchased from Mrs. Fish in room 36 on campus. The best time to come is during FLEX. Also look out for a flash sale on the 2022-23 books coming soon!

🐾🎈🎓This morning Concurrent U.S. History threw a surprise party for our seniors, Jaylon, Ranaiya, and Ty. FLEX students got in on the fun and helped prepare the party. MHS students are the BEST! 🎈🎓🐾

Earlier this week, these sixth period U.S. History students synthesized the research they gathered from Friday's gallery walk to write comparative essays. They did an amazing job!

Please congratulate Ms. Sharon Spence for her 15 years of service to FBLA. Ms. Spence was awarded for her dedication to FBLA at the state convention. Thank you Ms. Spence for all the hard work and dedication you have for FBLA; we would not be where we are as a chapter without you!

MHS FBLA students competed at the State Competition in Little Rock, AR on Monday and Tuesday. Several students placed in the top 4, securing their spot to compete in the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL this summer. Please congratulate Reed Kirkpatrick 3rd place in Computer Problem Solving; Michael Poulson 4th place in Introduction to Information Technology; David Burgess and Hayden Reed 3rd place in Coding and Programming. Other students placed in the top 6. Please congratulate these students on their success. Sophomores Keziah Aryee, DeJuan Dismuke, Tristan Morgan, and Judah Ray visited the Magnolia Rotary Meeting on Thursday, April 25th. They gave a talk about all the things they took away from attending Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp) early this month. The students talked about gaining skills such as courage, communication, and leadership. Thank you to Magnolia Rotary for sending MHS Students to this program. It always has a positive impact on their lives.

Congratulations to senior Christian Coppersmith, who received Third Place in Twelfth Grade in the 2024 Wildlife of Arkansas Student Art Contest! His painting will be featured in Arkansas Out of Doors magazine, a traveling exhibit, and in an online exhibit on the Arkansas Wildlife Federation website.

Congratulations to senior Angela Baxley for bringing home an award from the 2024 Arkansas Young Artist Association Competition! She received an Honorable Mention award for her digital art.
