Our January teacher of the month is Melanie Ladner. Mrs. Ladner is a solid and dependable member of our faculty. She is consistently teaching bell to bell; she has great classroom management and rapport with students. She is very knowledgeable in her content and in teaching it in a way that students can understand and relate to. We can always count on Mrs. Ladner to do whatever is asked of her without a complaint. We appreciate your hard work and dedication to our school, Mrs. Ladner!


Feb. 6-10 we are celebrating Educators Rising Week! Educators Rising is a grow-your-own program designed to encourage and prepare students for a future career in the teaching profession. Magnolia High School recently began its own ER chapter that coincides with the Intro. to Education class.

Keri Hamilton teaches English at MHS and is the chair of the English department. Mrs. Hamilton says that she enjoys being an educator because, "I love my students, my content, and my work environment. I never know what surprises await me each day, and I have the opportunity to be a positive influence for my students."

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE UPDATES
This year the February parent-teacher conferences on the MMS and MHS campuses fall on Valentines Day. To avoid any conflict of planned activities, the conferences for those two campuses have been moved to Thursday, February 16.

Jill Callicott works in our main office at MHS as a school counselor. Mrs. Callicott believes that "Anyone can learn and be good at something as long as they practice and work hard for it! The first step toward success in school is simple: be present! I enjoy our students at MHS. They teach me new things and are always full of surprises...every day is a new and exciting day!"
