
Public Schools Week - February 24-28


A great day today for Seniors!!!! Students were challenged today with real life scenarios. Everything from writing a check to balancing a budget and managing households!!! Lots of great feedback from them today on the activities!!! Thank you to all the volunteers that made this possible for our students!! A special thank you to Jeff Venable and Annette Pate for spearheading the event!

MHS Teacher Cadet, Blake Prince, led a “number talk” today in Mrs. Dees’s 3rd grade class at Eastside today.
A “number talk” is a mathematics discussion where students discuss strategies for solving an equation they have been given.




ACT testing Tuesday, Feb. 25. Good luck to all juniors testing! We are excited to see your hard work pay off!
Seniors meet in the arena at 8:00 for Career Day hosted by University of AR Division of Agriculture.
Panther Plaza will be closed until 1:00.

Magnolia Panthers and Lady Panthers will enter the 4A Regional Basketball Tournament @ Crossett High Gym this week. It's a new season, 0-0! Panthers play Bauxite 2/26 @ 5:30pm. Lady Panthers play Mena 2/27 @ 4pm. #ALLWEDOISWIN @BRINGEMOUT



MHS Quiz Bowl won 2nd today at the De Queen Tournament!!


MHS hosted an ACT Boot Camp Thursday on the SAU campus. Thank you to Dr. Berry for the pep talk!
Also, thank you to Bodcaw Bank and Partners in Education for providing snacks and lunch!





Three of Mrs. Love’s Marketing students spoke to a SAGE class today at Central Elementary about working at the Panther Plaza.



Enjoyed celebrating with our seniors after a convincing win over Hamburg to close out the season at Panther Arena.

Reminder.....Lady Panthers and Panthers will play their final game tonight in Panther Arena when the Hamburg Lady Lions and Lions come to town. It is Senior night also so plan to get there early for a seat!!! Tonight is also the debut of our television production class. Stay tuned on how you can watch live on television this evening!!! MHS Quiz Bowl placed 3rd today at the 2020 Cabot Quiz Bowl Tournament. 16 Teams competed today!

Panther and Lady Panther swimmers head to Arkadelphia today to defend their 2019 conference champ titles. McCook and Rogers are the only seniors from MHS and will be recognized before the meet . Swim hard, swim fast!!! Go MHS Swim Team!

Mrs. Hamilton’s and Mrs. Tiegs’ English classes participated in a Socratic Seminar as they wrapped up their study of dystopian societies.

Career and Technical Education Day took place at the state Capitol Tuesday, February 11, 2020. Held in the capitol rotunda, the event was designed to showcase CTE programs and leaders from across the state. Magnolia High School was well represented by students from the internship program. MHS students attending were A’Nijah Caldwell, Caitlin Jermany, and Jeremiah Smith.
